The ordered mass execution of innocent civilians versus gun weilding wackos is a large difference you forgot.
I even tried to play my language safe there to make it hard to argue, I guess you could argue we have ordered execution of innocent civilians before, but our Commander in Chief has not done so, unlike the equivalent, Usama.
